Zero One is a business taking shape, with big ambitions. We want to build a team capable of developing creative, solid and lasting partnerships that support both rights holders’ growth and brands’ objectives.
Joining us now means taking part in the earliest stages of that journey. You will help shape our ways of working, develop our offers and build our commercial relationships. Your ideas, initiative and commitment will have a direct influence on how Zero One develops.
You will support a maximum of three rights holders in developing their partnerships and sponsorship revenue.
Each rights holder has its own history, identity, audiences, ambitions and opportunities for collaboration. Your role will be to understand these in depth, identify the right brands, start conversations and build proposals that serve both parties’ interests.
You will follow each project’s commercial development, from assessing its potential to negotiating partnerships, reporting to an Operating Partner and working in tandem with a Marketing Graphic Designer.
A focused portfolio, a deep understanding of every project
You will work with one to three rights holders at a time. This focused scope should allow you to get to know each project properly, develop a tailored approach and nurture commercial relationships over time.
For each one, you should be able to answer a few essential questions:
- What makes this rights holder distinctive and relevant to a brand?
- Which audiences does it reach, in what contexts and through what kind of relationship?
- What are its development objectives and funding needs?
- Which rights, content, experiences or communication opportunities can it offer a partner?
- Which collaborations fit its identity and feel credible to its audiences?
- Which commitments can it realistically deliver, with what resources and on what timeline?
This understanding will be the starting point for your commercial work.
Your responsibilities
1. Understand and communicate each rights holder’s value
With the Operating Partner, you will gather the information needed to build a precise commercial narrative: positioning, audience, community, news, calendar, existing partners and results from previous collaborations.
You will identify partnership opportunities and the conditions needed to deliver them: content creation, visibility, events, experiences, hospitality, community engagement or other approaches suited to the project.
You will help define a clear value proposition for each rights holder, taking its strengths, constraints and existing partner commitments into account.
The objective: explain what a brand can achieve through the partnership, using concrete arguments.
2. Identify the brands to build a collaboration with
You will develop a relevant shortlist of brands for each project we support.
Your research will cover, in particular:
- The brand’s positioning and audiences.
- Its marketing and commercial objectives.
- Its campaigns, launches and latest developments.
- Its existing partnerships and how it activates them.
- Where it connects with the rights holder’s identity, audiences and opportunities.
- The people, timings and decision-making processes you need to understand.
You will prioritise prospects with a clear hypothesis: why this brand, for this rights holder, and why now?
3. Develop prospects through a personalised approach
You will be directly involved in finding new sponsors: identifying decision-makers, making contact, arranging meetings and following up.
Every approach should be grounded in a specific reason to start a conversation. You will adapt your messages to the brand’s context and prepare for discussions to understand its needs, decision criteria and resources.
You will maintain a rigorous commercial follow-up process for each rights holder: contacts, conversations, opportunities, next steps and proposals in progress.
You will allocate your time across projects according to their priorities, deadlines and identified opportunities, in coordination with the Operating Partner.
4. Develop and present tailored proposals
Drawing on your research and conversations with brands, you will develop recommendations that connect:
- A brand objective : awareness, image, acquisition, customer relationships, employee engagement or another identified need.
- An opportunity specific to the rights holder : an audience, content, an experience, an event or a right that can be activated.
- A concrete plan : the idea, formats, commitments, timeline, budget and evaluation criteria.
You will check the information, opportunities and feasibility of the proposal with the Operating Partner.
You will then brief the Marketing Graphic Designer, who will create the appropriate brochures and presentations. Together, you will ensure that each piece clearly communicates the reasoning, the partnership’s value and the proposed terms.
You will present these recommendations to brands and refine them with the team as discussions progress.
5. Turn opportunities into agreements
You will address objections, follow up and contribute to negotiations.
You will track opportunities through to a decision, keeping the Operating Partner informed about discussions and proposed commitments.
When a partnership is signed, you will work together on a precise handover for delivery: the partner’s objectives, commitments, deliverables, timeline and points requiring attention.
Feedback from brands and the results of collaborations will help you improve the offers and identify renewal opportunities.
Who we are looking for
You have a strong marketing instinct and a real appetite for commercial prospecting. You enjoy analysing a project, finding a convincing angle and presenting it to a potential partner.
In particular, we are looking for:
- Curiosity and analytical thinking. You know how to research, ask the right questions and distinguish a superficial affinity from a real partnership opportunity.
- A good understanding of brands. You take an interest in their audiences, objectives and the way they communicate.
- Commercial initiative. You enjoy making contact, starting discussions, following up and moving opportunities forward.
- The ability to make recommendations. You can turn information into a clear, well-reasoned and relevant proposal.
- A collaborative approach. You know how to write a brief, share useful information and work with creative and operational profiles.
- Rigour. You can follow several distinct projects without losing sight of their specific needs or deadlines.
- Strong French communication skills, both written and spoken.
Experience in sponsorship, partnerships, business development, agency work or marketing is welcome. It may come from employment, freelance work, a work-study programme, an entrepreneurial project or a non-profit initiative.
For an experienced candidate, we will look at the proposals developed, the commercial approaches taken and the partnerships secured. For a work-study candidate, we will pay particular attention to the quality of their reasoning, the initiative they have shown and their ability to develop with the team.
Who you will work with at Zero One
The Operating Partner: your line manager
You will report directly to the Operating Partner, your line manager. They will coordinate discussions with the rights holders we support and Zero One’s clients.
You will work with them to understand projects, gather useful information and clarify priorities, partnership opportunities and constraints.
Together, you will check that commercial proposals match the parties’ expectations and the commitments the rights holder can realistically deliver. You will share commercial progress, needs expressed by brands and matters requiring a discussion or decision.
The Marketing Graphic Designer: create materials that do your proposals justice
You will work in tandem with the Marketing Graphic Designer, as peers at the same organisational level, to turn your recommendations into tailored commercial brochures and presentations, adapted to each rights holder and each prospective brand.
You will provide the material they need: knowledge of the brand, identified objectives, partnership angle, commercial arguments and proposed approach. Together, you will work on how to present the proposal and communicate its value.
The Marketing Graphic Designer will take responsibility for its visual expression and the production of materials: information hierarchy, layout, imagery and graphic consistency.
You should therefore be able to prepare a clear brief, share prospects’ feedback and develop the materials together as commercial discussions progress.
Your role within this team: move commercial opportunities forward, drawing on the right information and expertise at every stage.
